A certified public accountant based in Brooklyn, Richard Girasole founded Richard J Girasole CPA PC, a full service CPA firm, in 1982 and has since built the business to the point of serving approximately 1500 clients. Richard Girasole maintains membership in the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

In January, AICPA released the Uniform CPA Examination Blueprints for the updated Uniform CPA Exam. The Blueprints contain the content eligible for inclusion in the new CPA exam and are believed to be responsive to the changing requirements in skills and competence in the accounting profession. The release of the Blueprints is still a part of the CPA Evolution initiative, which was approved by the AICPA Council in 2020. The CPA Evolution is a joint undertaking of AICPA and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

In mid-2022, AICPA opened the exposure draft of the new exam to feedback and comments. This stage is called the Practice Analysis research. Input was collected from various stakeholders interested in preserving the credibility and mission of the profession. The Practice Analysis ensured that the new Exam model is aligned with the CPA Evolution initiative. From the Practice Analysis came the blueprints.

The updated Uniform CPA Exam will be implemented in 2024.
